All talks are held on the third Thursday in the month in the Lumley Room at the Emsworth Community Centre starting at 7.30pm. Entrance is free to members and £2 for non-members. Non-members please note - it only costs £7 a year to join the society!

Centenary Garden Party
Centenary Garden Party – Sunday 30 th June 2019 in the grounds of
November 21st 2019
Hollybank House from 1pm to 4pm. All members are invited to our garden party to celebrate the centenary of the EHS. Entry is free, but by ticket only. There will be a drink of fizz on arrival, a tasty picnic buffet lunch and entertainment from Harry Strutter’s Hot Three. You’re welcome to bring your own drinks, and please bring something to sit on such as picnic chairs and blankets. Tickets can be collected from the Hut starting on Sunday 12 th May, the day of our plant sale. Please bring the membership card for your household.

Chris Bird from Sparsholt College will be giving a talk on his collection of heritage apples from Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. He’ll be bringing some samples to taste. There will be a bring and buy plant sale too.
‘British Flowers Rock!’ with Ben Cross from Crossland’s Alstromeria Nursery. Ben is a tireless campaigner for British Flowers, and will speak on this and his family’s history of growing under glass in West Sussex going back four generations.
