Garden Trips 2020

This year we start in March, earlier than usual, visiting a delightful garden famous for its amazing collection of Hellebores, organised by Angela Armstrong. The rest of the team, Heather Hayter, Gill Sadler, Jan Morgan, Sally Outram and Annette Wood have all worked hard planning a wonderful day out for you all at cost price. Do support them.

HOW TO BOOK A TRIP . 1 . Phone or email the trip organiser to check availability. 2 . Date your cheque for the day of the trip and make it payable to EHS. 3 . Send / deliver it to the trip organiser within a week of booking your place. 4 . If you are not on Email please enclose a S.A.E. 21 cm by 8 cm for THE ITINERARY FOR THE DAY. This will be sent out approx 2 weeks before the trip (emailers. Make a note in your diary to keep an eye out for it.)

V isiting Sutton Hoo National Trust The astonishing Anglo Saxon ship burial, Woodbridge, Suffolk.discovered in 1939. The sheer rich quality of the gold. silver and inlaid artefacts makes it one of the most significant archaeological finds in England. Helmingham Hall. 500yrs in the Tollemache family . Xa Tollemache, who has won Gold medals in the Chelsea Flower show has redesigned the Garden to create a wonderful grade one garden. Visit the World Famous Kew Gardens - Wednesday 20th May 2020 (Trip Postponed)
In the morning we visit RHS Wisley , one of the world’s great gardens, packed with horticultural inspiration. We will see the new Welcome building and surrounding    landscap ing which has transformed the entrance to Wisley. Amongst the many impressive areas of the garden to enjoy are the redesigned rose garden, the glasshouse, the vegetable gardens, the huge rock garden and the herbaceous borders, all cared for to perfection. Later on in the afternoon, we visit Chinthurst Lodge , a one acre enthusiast's atmospheric garden with herbaceous borders, dramatic white garden, specimen trees and shrubs, gravel garden with water feature, small kitchen garden, fruit cage, two wells, ornamental ponds, herb parterre and millennium parterre garden.
